Q: What is economic development?
A: In Sanger we measure economic development by the improvement to quality of life experienced by our residents. This is accomplished by constantly increasing the number and quality of jobs available, by preserving the environmental and social values that are important to the community, and by increasing the economic value of the community through the retention and growth of existing businesses, as well as the attraction of new businesses to the community.

Q: What about the permitting process?
A: The City of Sanger is committed to high-quality customer service, especially in the area of permit processing. Training City staff to respond quickly to requests has meant a faster turnaround time producing positive results within the business sector.

The City Clerk's Office is a public-service department that maintains a complete and accurate record of Council proceedings; preserves official City records; conducts Municipal Elections; provides administrative support to the City Council and provides prompt and courteous services to citizens, City Council and City staff requests for assistance.
The City Clerk is responsible for the preparation, reproduction, distribution and archiving City Council agendas, agenda packet materials, documents and minutes.
Official City Records
As Custodian of Records, the City Clerk serves as the official record filing center for all City resolutions, agendas, ordinances, contracts, minutes and documents adopted by the City Council. The Clerk handles requests for copies of, or information regarding official City documents.
Political Reform Act
The City Clerk is the local filing officer for all filings and statements required by the Political Reform Act. This includes campaign contribution and expenditure reports from candidates for City Council and Statements of Economic Interest from current City officials, designated employees and members of City Board's and Committees. These documents can be reviewed in the Clerk's Office during normal business hours.

A: There are three really easy ways to do this:
You can phone us at 876-6300. We can do everything over the phone. Our phone line hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
You can come into City Hall, 1700 Seventh Street, to the Finance public counter and sign-up for service in person.
