Contracted Services
The City contracts the collection of garbage, green waste, and recyclable material within the City to Mid Valley Disposal and contracts the street sweeping operation to Clean Street Company.
Objectives
- Promote disposal methods that reduce waste (AB939) to landfills by 50% by using:
- Education
- Green Waste
- Recycling
- Continue commercial recycling program for business and multi-family dwellings with five or more units.
- Continue green waste operation
- Continue remediate and/or abandon existing City landfills in compliance to federal, state, and county requirements.
- Look for innovative methods of waste collection that minimize alley use, alley travel, and customer complaints.
- Institute measurable objectives related to route efficiency and other department activities
News
- Annual clean-up - One Saturday in April and October
- Holiday Schedule - pick up will only be affected on the following holidays. If your pick up falls on one of these dates, collection will take place the following day.
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
- New Year's Day
